Welcome to my writing portfolio!
I have created this site to display work I have completed over the last 3 months. I have categorized the site into "Papers" and "My Reflections" for easy navigation. In the "Papers" category you will be able to view all my final papers. In the category "My Reflections" you will be able to read more about my thoughts, struggles and accomplishments for each piece.
As you read you may notice similarities in topics. This is because of the Service Learning section of the English 2010 class. As a course requirement we were asked to serve our community and become civically engaged by finding a community partner and donating our time. My community partner is Planned Parenthood Association of Utah. In working with Planned Parenthood I was able draw ideas from what I was learning and apply them to my writing. I was never low on ideas and was excited about all my topics, this made for a great semester of writing.
Being a part of this service learning course was a great experience. I am thankful to have been a part of it and for not only learning to write for my real world setting, but to also learn how to use critical thinking in ways I never have before.
It is my hope that my work displays my ability to write for different genres and offers my readers a little insight into what I have learned from this class.
